Why do guys always call me cute?

I was on a date with Richie and we were making out. He said I have a cute face and cute body and I'm awesome. I just smiled and kept kissing him. Is cute way lower than beautiful, y, or gorgeous? What is a cute body? No I'm not over yzing things I just want to find out the difference.
