What to excepect when your first get a puppy?

Expect a lot of hard work! It's like having a baby. Puppies should NEVER go outside until they're fully vaccinated except in your own garden. Most dog food that I've come across has a portion guide on the packaging. As far as training goes, doing it the right way & doing it the wrong way will either produce a lovely dog or a nightmare! Read some books about house training & walking nicely on a lead etc & you wont go far wrong. Enjoy!
