Are There An Theories On How Life Came About?

Ok, I'm an atheist and I accept evolution. But, evolution doesn't necessarily explain how life came about to begin with. Are there currently any theories on how life formed? And don't tell me creation, because I think creationism is bogus, unrealistic, and irrelevant. And even if creationism was plausible, it wouldn't be in the divine sense. Because I mean I don't get how some people believe that one man somehow got mystical powers to create all the matter and life in outer space.
